Seeing Clearly

Seeing Clearly

When our thoughts keep going back to a problem over and over, it’s time to change our thought pattern, our focus, our gaze, our perspective. It becomes time to look away. I am not saying deny the problem, but look away from what would distract and try to detour us from looking unto Jesus. The longer we look at or think about a problem, the larger it becomes to us- especially if the problem has been going on for a while. Get your eyes off the problem and back onto Jesus! But how?

We change our focus by worshiping Jesus. In worship, we see Jesus for who He is: the One who conquered death, hell, the grave, and every enemy. We will realize all over again that Jesus has already gotten and given us the victory. Worship changes how we view ourselves too. We go from a victim mentality to seeing ourselves as victors.

Remember, as a child of God you are not subject to sin, sickness, poverty, or any demonic power! In worship, Jesus causes you to triumph over your enemies. Worship enforces the victory that Jesus already provided. Worship takes the authority we gave to the problem and shifts it back to Jesus. This is what it means to have Jesus as your Lord.

Worship adjusts your perspective and allows you to see things correctly. The distortion of the devil is broken when we glorify our Lord.

But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. I Corinthians 15:57 (NIV)
