Let God Put You Where He Wants You
But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. I Corinthians 12:18 (KJV)
So many people in the body of Christ are dissatisfied, and it has a lot to do with this verse. Often we decide what we want to do and where we want to be, and then we try to get God to line up with our will. It’s backwards and it never works. The key to being fulfilled is to be where God wants us.
My wife and I lived in a region where we just could not find a church to attend. Let me be clear- there were plenty of churches, but none of them was the right church for us. We looked at church after church and it just never felt right. It was because God had other plans. Eventually, God moved us 1,000 miles to Texas to the church we are at now. Yes, there was an adjustment period, and God told us to give it time. But, now the pieces are falling into place, and things are coming together. We know that God definitely placed us here. And that brings a sense of peace and wellbeing.
When we try to make our own way, we often attempt to make the pieces fit in the wrong place, like someone trying to force the wrong pieces into a jigsaw puzzle. It doesn’t end up looking right, and it feels very awkward. We have to follow God’s will and allow Him to place us. We can’t place ourselves and then look to God to approve it.
Granted, sometimes we don’t have a clear understanding of what God’s will is. That is when you take some steps. One step at a time, through process of elimination, find out the path He has for you. If you take a step and it is wrong, just step back and try something else. I like to say that we have to step out to find out. After a few steps, God’s way will become clearer to you. Just keep taking steps.
The steps of a [good and righteous] man are directed and established by the Lord, And He delights in his way [and blesses his path]. Psalm 37:23 (Amplified Bible, AMP)
God has a wonderful journey for each of us. We need to let God put us on the right path to get us to the right place so we can do the right thing to promote the kingdom. It will bless us, and it will bless Him.
