Attack Lack

Fear the Lord, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing. Psalm 34:9 (New International Version, NIV)

This says we are to fear, or honor and respect and even worship, the Lord. We are not to fear lack. Why? Because, according to Genesis 22, God is Jehovah Jireh, our Provider. Jesus is the Way (John 14:6), and God always makes a way for us (Isaiah 43:19). Therefore we need not fear when lack threatens us.

As a matter of fact, when lack attacks, we can attack lack back by:

  • Trusting God. His provision will swallow up any lack that may come against us.

  • Giving. For every need, God provides seed. Plant that seed and watch God bring a miracle harvest into your life (II Corinthians 9:10)

I have personally faced many challenges, but as I sowed seed against lack, God has always provided. As believers, we can proclaim, “We have no fear of running out, but faith in God for running over.”

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Luke 6:38 (NIV)

When we give, it is given back to us running over. God fills our cup to overflowing to meet our needs and to help others. When we honor the Lord in our giving, we are trusting Him for a good outcome.

The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. Psalm 34:10 (NIV)

When we attack lack with faith, God is faithful to provide all we need and more.
