How To Believe God For Anything

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9-10 (KJV)

When we confessed and believed Jesus’ lordship, we were saved. With our hearts, we believed, putting us in right relationship and standing with God. With our mouths, we established our salvation by our confession that Jesus is Lord. The word saved in verse 9 is sozo in the Greek, which means saved, healed, delivered, and whole. In verse 10, the word salvation is the Greek word soteria, which means salvation, safety, deliverance, health, soundness, prosperity, and rescue. Salvation includes the provision of all we need.

As we believed in hearts and spoke our salvation into being with our mouths, salvation was ours. Since we received salvation by this means, we can be assured that we can do the same for anything we may need, in whatever situation we are faced with. We can use the same method to receive anything God has provided through Jesus’ sacrifice. Since God did not hold back Jesus from us, we can know that God will give us freely all we need. As we believe in our hearts and confess with our mouths what Jesus’ salvation has made available to us, He will give us all we need.

He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Romans 8:32 (KJV)

As we believed and confessed Jesus Christ as Lord over our lives, we can proclaim the promises of God over our lives as well.

For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. II Corinthians 1:20 (KJV)

Jesus and His sacrifice are the guarantee that God will do what He promised. So, we can use the same way to get our needs met that we used to get saved. As we believe and confess, we activate the promises of God.
