Second Wind
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. Hebrews 12:1 (New Living Translation, NLT)
That according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, Ephesians 3:16 (English Standard Version, ESV) emphasis mine
Many people in the Body of Christ have become weary and tired. Many feel like they have been fighting the fight of faith for such a long time that they cannot go on any longer. The battles have been intense these days, and it can feel overwhelming at times, but God is breathing new life, power, and energy into His children.
This is the time of the second wind. The Holy Spirit is blowing upon us. We aren’t going under, but we are coming out on top. We will not fall on the battlefield, but we will come out the victors. And the spoils will be ours. As a runner gets to a point where he does not think he can go on, many of us have grown tired and exhausted. However, if that runner will not quit, but will choose to press on, he will gain what is called his second wind, with renewed energy and endurance to finish the race. As we choose to press on in the power of the Holy Spirit, we are getting our second wind.
Pray in the Holy Spirit to regain your vigor and spiritual endurance. Keep on running. Don’t stop pressing on. Allow the power of God to be resurrected in you today. Persevere. Endure. Outlast the enemy. You will reach the finish line if you allow the Holy Spirit to blow His second wind into you.
Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Power. The same power that broke into hell and raised Jesus from the dead is in us and available to us as we run the race to win. And win we will if we do not give up.
