Equality in Christ
For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. Romans 10:12 (NKJV)
even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; Romans 3:22 (NKJV)
Then Peter opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him. Acts 10:34-35 (NKJV)
For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:11-13 (NKJV)
In these verses, and so many more, God is telling us that there is no respect of persons, or partiality, with Him. In Christ, God has made us one and equal with one another. No matter the color, race, background, economic status, or education level, no one is better than another. Regardless of whether we are male or female, young or old, God loves us all the same. Some people’s situations may be better, but we are all created with equal value by God and for God.
God loves us all the same. He looks down on or condemns no one, and those of us who are born-again shouldn’t either. Yes, we are all different and we have our differences, but we must not allow our differences to separate and divide us from our brothers and sisters in Christ. Our common ground should be faith in Jesus Christ and His death, burial, resurrection, and ascension. Surely that is enough common ground for us to get along. Christ has broken down every wall that once separated and divided us. It’s a new day and a new time to love one another based on who Christ is and what He has accomplished for all of us.
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. Galatians 3:28-29 (NKJV)
We have been made one in Christ, so let’s put aside our strife and division and remember that we are all heirs according to the promise. God does not respect one person above another, so let’s all accept and respect each other. As we honor one another, we honor God, because He made each and every one of us. Let’s treat each other with love. We are to love one another as God loves us. We are stronger and better together than we are apart.
Let’s have no more competition, but instead let’s have completion through Christ and our unity in Him. “In Christ” is what makes each of us different and yet all equal.
