Fight Right
Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21 (KJV)
We are to fight for what’s right, just, honest, and fair. However, there’s a right way and a wrong way to fight. We fight in the Sprit by praying against things and not taking matters into our own hands. Put it in God’s hands and watch Him make things right.
We overcome evil with God, overcome darkness with light, and overcome wrong with right. We fight in the Spirit with prayer, speaking and proclaiming God’s Word. Use spiritual weapons like peace, goodness, and the love of God. We don’t fight in the flesh using carnal weapons. Physical confrontation is not out of the question, but must be used only when God specifically instructs. Our mightiest weapons are spiritual weapons, not natural ones.
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; Epheisans 6:10-18 (KJV)
These are the weapons that defeat the enemy. When we fight in the flesh, we lose. When we fight in the Spirit, we win. Yes, we get angry, but we are to use anger for a godly cause. Fight against sin, satan, and sickness. Fight against evil and wickedness. Proclaim the blood of Jesus and the name of Jesus. Use praise like a weapon. When we fight right we win every time.
The enemy cannot win when we fight with truth, light, and righteousness. And when we do right, God makes things right for us. Fight right and you’re guaranteed to win.
