See Who You Really Are
You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! Psalm 139:16-18 (New Living Translation, NLT)
Say that passage out loud and really think about it. God knew you and saw you before you were ever born. I don’t think we have any grasp of how much God knows about us and how much He loves who He has made us.
He made your eyes, mouth, nose, and all your physical members. Any feature you don’t like about yourself- see it through God’s eyes. You’ll gain a new appreciation for the beautiful, amazing creation that you are. He made your laugh. He made your voice. He gave you a sense of humor. He gave you a unique personality with unique preferences. He gave you a combination of talents and skills that belong to only you. You are personally designed by the Almighty- spirit, soul, and body. Go look in the mirror and appreciate His handiwork.
And He has a plan for you. It is a good plan, filled with good things and good days. He had it all laid out before you ever drew breath. He knows what choices you will make and why you will make them. He can see where you are going and where you’ve been. His eye is constantly on you, working things out for your good.
What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows. Matthew 10:29-31 (New Living Translation, NLT)
He is constantly watching over you with love and divine protection. His care is immeasurable. He loves you with an everlasting love, and you are of unlimited value to Him. He loves you so much that He died for you. He is always thinking about you. You are never out of His mind. He wants to be with you all the time. He longs for continual companionship with you.
Because your heavenly Father loves you the way He does, He has provided for your every need or want. All you have to do is ask Him and believe He will give it to you. He is holding nothing back from you.
“So don’t be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom. Luke 12:32 (New Living translation, NLT)
You are His beloved, His treasure, His dearest creation, and His crowning achievement. You are the apple of His eye and His very own child. See who you really are. Never sell yourself short, because when you do, you sell Him short too.
