Stay Focused
As the eyes of slaves look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a female slave look to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, till he shows us his mercy. Psalm 123:2 (New International Version, NIV)
This verse speaks of persistence, staying focused on God. Just as the eyes of slaves look to their masters or maids to their mistresses, so should our eyes look to the Lord our God.
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. Matthew 7:7-8 (New International Version, NIV)
Ask, seek, and find. Fighting the good fight of faith is not for weak-hearted. As we ask and keep asking, praying without ceasing, we will receive. In other words, don’t stop praying just because you don’t see it yet. Keep seeking God. He rewards those who seek Him diligently in faith. You will find. You will obtain the promise if you don’t give up.
We must keep our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith. As we look to the Lord in expectation, our expectation will not be cut off. Our hope won’t be disappointed. As we stay focused on the Lord, we run our race until we finish and win!
God’s love won’t fail us. His love will prevail. God is love and He can’t fail. If we remember this, we can stay the course and get what we are seeking. Everyone who asks receives. Everyone who seeks finds. Everyone who knocks experiences an open door. Just on the other side of our asking, seeking, and knocking wait answers, manifestations, breakthroughs, provision, purpose, and power. Don’t lose your focus. Persistence is the key.
So, keep it up. Don’t stop. Don’t quit. It will be worth it all. God will bless you, help you, and show you that He does what He has promised. And your joy will be full.
