Workable Words
Speak words that work for you, not against you. Words set the course for your life, and they can change the course of your life.
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Mark 11:23 (KJV)
What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good? Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile. Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. Psalm 34:12-14 (KJV)
Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. Ephesians 4:29 (KJV)
From the fruit of their lips people are filled with good things, and the work of their hands brings them reward. Proverbs 12:14 (New International Version, NIV)
He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction. Proverbs 13:3 (KJV)
Words reveal a person’s heart, character, thoughts, attitudes, feelings, and intentions. You can locate a person by their words. Their words will eventually reveal who they really are.
Words, once spoken, cannot be taken back, so speak right words the first time. Think before you talk. You can apologize, but words cannot be taken back. Always speak words of love and kindness. If you must confront someone with the truth, do it in love. Use words to build relationships and not to tear them down. Right words bring love, forgiveness, healing, and reconciliation. Words can draw people to you or repel them.
Your words will determine the quality of your life. The kind of life you have is greatly influenced by your words- whether good or bad. Words will put you over in life or they will bring defeat. Speak words of life, not death, blessing, not cursing, healing and wholeness, not sickness and brokenness, wisdom, not foolishness, abundance, not lack, and victory, not defeat. Speak the words that God can use to bring His plan to pass in your life. Let His Word be your word. Feed on His Word and let it flow out of you daily. No wrong words spoken over you can harm you if you speak words to cancel them. Words are our authority. With them we rule in life or we ruin our lives.
If we think before we speak, we can allow God to guide and use our words. Let your words always glorify God, minister to others, and enhance your life. Let your words always be workable words, useable by the Lord for good.
