Equally Important
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! Romans 10:13-15 (KJV)
This tells us that whoever calls on the Lord’s name will be saved. This promise is not a hope-so kind of deal. It is a know-so. When we call on Jesus, we know we are saved.
How can people be saved without a preacher; someone to tell them about Jesus? They can’t. And how can someone preach to them about Jesus unless he or she is sent? They can’t. This means that those who send the preacher are just as important as the preacher that is sent. The preacher cannot go without support. We need people to support those who preach the Gospel.
We are all equally important. We will share in the same rewards- those who send and those who are sent. We all need each other, and we must work together as a team to complete the job of getting people saved. We can’t forget the importance of the jobs we work and the other things we do to earn money so we can send people to preach the Gospel. Work may seem like a secular thing, but when our money goes into the kingdom, that job becomes a holy thing.
Never forget that we all are to work together as the body of Christ, each of us being equally important to the work of the Lord. The bottom line is the salvation of people and the glorifying of God.
