Why Things Are The Way They Are

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:2 (KJV)

Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: Ephesians 1:9-11 (KJV)

God has set spiritual laws in motion that God Himself cannot violate. That’s why satan has done and continues to do everything he can to steal, kill, and destroy. He’s trying to provoke God to go against His own laws. Because God and His Word are one, if He were to violate His own laws, He would actually self-destruct. The devil wants God out of the way.

The reason it has taken thousands of years to undo what Adam and Eve did is because God gave man 6,000 years to rule and have dominion over the earth. The issue is that man handed over their legal authority to rule the earth to the devil. At the end of that 6,000 year period, which we are very close to, man’s “earth lease” will expire, ending the rule of the devil over this world system. Then Jesus will rule the earth for 1,000 years (the millenium). At the end of that millennial period, there is a final battle between Jesus and satan, and satan is then cast into the lake of fire forever. After that, God will run things forever, with us working with Him.

Until the devil is dealt with once and for all, we must partner with God to see His plan come to pass in the earth. When Jesus rose from the dead, all authority was returned to Him and He shared it with His followers- us. God has given us the opportunity to work with Him. The enemy has the ability to work in this world to the degree that we allow it. God will ultimately have His way, working out His purposes until we are with Him forever. That’s why God didn’t just start over when Adam and Eve sinned. They had given their earth lease to satan, so God had to deal with things legally. This is why Jesus had to come as a man. Man had lost it all, and a man had to get it all back… and Jesus did.

When Lucifer fell, God would deal with him in His own time and way. God couldn’t destroy Lucifer, who is now known as satan, because he was a created being, a spirit that will live forever- like you and me. The difference is that mankind can be redeemed, but satan, and his demons cannot. They crossed a line that cannot be reconciled. Angels and demons are in a different class than man. Man was made in the image of God; they were not. The first Adam fell, but mankind was redeemed through the second Adam, Jesus. God deals with fallen beings differently, based on how they are made and their sin. Jesus died for men, not angels.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 (KJV)

God has set certain laws in place, such as the earth lease and man’s authority. He abides by His laws, and in His time and way, uses the legal means to make things right for those who love Him.
