Get Your House In Order
“Get your house in order.” God spoke those words very clearly to me recently. Now, before you become concerned, He was not saying that I was going to die. He was referring to my physical body- my house- the temple of the Holy Spirit. he was telling me to get my physical body in order, in shape.
Yesterday, I blogged about the nudge, or the prompting, of the Holy Spirit- when He is gently trying to tell you something, often to warn you of danger and give you instructions about how to prevent it. Well, I have to be transparent and honest about something the Lord has been “nudging’ me about for a very long time- my health. And I must openly confess that I have not been heeding His guidance.
Years back, He started speaking gently to me about changing my eating habits and getting more physical exercise- not just to lose weight but to be in good health overall. And at times, I listened- for a while. Then I would go back to my old ways. And as time has gone on, the Holy Spirit’s warnings have become louder. Until recently, when He boldly told me to get my house in order. And as time has progressed, I began to notice symptoms of health problems- some small, others not so small. Symptoms that would have been prevented had I listened to the Holy Spirit’s early nudgings.
So, now with His urging for me to get my house in order, I have the opportunity to turn things around and be ready for the great worldwide revivial and awakening that is almost upon us. That’s what this is really all about. God wants us all to be ready and prepared to be used in whatever way we are needed to help bring in the great harvest that is coming. In my current physical condition, I can be useful, but not as useful as if I were in tip-top shape. And so, in order to be everything the Lord needs me to be, I am finally making the quality decision to get my house in order.
He was saying to them, “The harvest is abundant [for there are many who need to hear the good news about salvation], but the workers [those available to proclaim the message of salvation] are few. Therefore, [prayerfully] ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest. Luke 10:2 (Amplified Bible, AMP)
What is the Holy Spirit urging you to do to to be ready for the great global outpouring? Maybe it has to do with your physical health, like me. Or maybe He is telling you to get in the Word to be spiritually prepared. Or maybe He is telling you to get back in church, save some money, mend a broken relationship, or turn away from a bad relationship. Whatever it is, I believe the time is now for us to get serious and do whatever He is asking us to do. I’m getting my house in order for the sake of Jesus Christ. Will you do the same?
