Delighting and Seeking Brings Supply
Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Psalm 37:4 (KJV)
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 (KJV)
In the Old Testament, the Gospels, and New Testament, we see God’s plan for provision. The verses above bear that out. Let’s look at them individually and then tie them together.
Delight
Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Psalm 37:4 (KJV)
As we delight in, or take pleasure in and enjoy and desire God, He will put His desires in us and then set out to fulfill them. Pursue God and find your pleasure in Him, and God will bring your heart’s desires to pass.
Seek
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
As we seek first God’s kingdom, or His rule, in our lives, plus His righteousness, or Gods’ right way, His blessings come to us. As we seek God Himself and His way of doing things, blessings will seek us out and chase us down. We will have more than we can receive (Deuteronomy 28:1-2, Malachi 3:10).
Supply
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 (KJV)
This verse is set in the context of giving. Therefore, as we give, God will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory, or His endless supply. It comes through Jesus Christ, meaning it is promised to believers. Giving to God releases heaven’s unlimited resources to supply all our needs and even more than we need (Psalm 23:5) based on our faith in Jesus Christ.
Delight yourself in the Lord. become pliable in His hands as you seek after Him and aim your affections on Him. You will find God and He will give you all you need. Love for God and the love of God will move you to give to God and others, releasing the overflowing blessings of the Lord into your life. All we need is God in order to have all we need.
