Wait On The Lord
Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. Psalm 27:14 (KJV)
Our soul waiteth for the Lord: he is our help and our shield. Psalm 30:20 (KJV)
These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due season. Psalm 104:27 (KJV)
There are some situations where you just have to wait it out. Often it’s for your preparation, protection, promotion, or prosperity. You’ve heard the saying that good things come to those who wait. That’s especially true when you wait on the Lord. God rewards those who wait, and the reward is always worth the wait.
Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.… Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day…. Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee. Psalm 25: 3, 5, 21 (KJV)
In our waiting, God is working. Waiting is just a part of life. As we wait, we can draw closer to God and get to know Him better. He won’t disappoint us. He uses waiting to mature us, to change our focus, and to get our attention. As we wait on God, we gain new strength, hope, vision, direction, and a new word from God.
Waiting on God is never a waste of time. As we wait and trust in God, we can be at peace, knowing that God will take care of things. When we know that what we’re waiting for will happen, it makes waiting easier, more doable.
We wait ON God, ministering to Him while we wait. We wait FOR God, abiding patiently until He has fulfilled His promise. We wait IN God, waiting in His strength and by His Spirit rather than in our human strength. Waiting the the flesh is difficult, but waiting in and by the Spirit of God is easier.
And therefore will the Lord wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the Lord is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him. Isaiah 30:18 (KJV)
Wait it out, and God will work it out. You will see that the reward was worth the wait.
