Wait For It
For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. Hebrews 6:13-15 (KJV)
We try and try and try to make things happen, wearing ourselves out and producing no results. According to Psalm 127:1, unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain that build it. Works of the flesh never work. Jesus said they profit nothing (John 6:63). The spirit produces good fruit (Galatians 5:22-23), but the flesh produces no good thing. As we abide in the vine, or in Christ, fruit comes, then more fruit, then much fruit (John 15:1-8). God’s Word is seed and God said in Genesis 1:11-12 that the seed is in itself to produce fruit after its own kind.
We can do it our own way and get nothing or get something that we have to work to maintain. On the other hand, we can do it God’s way. What God orders, He pays for, so He will make it happen, and once we have it, He sustains it because He is the Creator. Whatever God has called us to be and do cannot be accomplished by us. Let God make it happen. Our part is to prepare and follow any directions He gives. God’s part is to bring it to pass in His way and in His time, based on His promises and plans.
For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building. I Corinthians 3:9 (KJV)
We have to partner with God and wait on His timing. If you’re waiting on a mate, wait on God and let Him bring that person to you the right way. God brought Eve to Adam, and He’ll bring you together with the right one. Don’t force it or try to do it yourself and make a mess of things. If you’re believing for a job, the Lord will close doors on jobs that aren’t good or are wrong for you. He will open the right doors so you can walk into the position that’s fits you.
We can’t possess the land without God and His instructions. We must act according to what He tells us to do, knowing that the battle is the Lord’s. Praise is our weapon.
We can’t change ourselves without God. As we abide, or dwell, in God’s Word, our minds are renewed and we are changed little by little, line upon line. As we go through the process to prepare our hearts to receive all He has for us, our hearts are enlarged by God’s Word. When that happens, we can receive more of what God has for us.
As we wait on God and wait for God, we can ask according to God’s Word, and He will give to us what He has promised. So, wait for it. You won’t be disappointed. As you go through the process, you’ll gain God’s character and God’s promises, and you’ll enjoy Christ’s finished works.
Blessed are all they that wait for him. Isaiah 30:18 (KJV)
Whatever you’re waiting for, do not give up. Partner with God, and it will come to pass at the proper time.
For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Habakkuk 2:3 (KJV) emphasis mine.
