God Is Just
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I John 1:9 (KJV) emphasis mine
God is just. Just means righteous- right in who He is and what He does. His actions are always just.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23 (KJV)
Justice demands a payment for sin. God’s justice was satisfied in Christ. At the cross, Jesus Christ took our punishment and satisfied God’s justice against sin. He judged our sins in Christ on the cross. We deserve punishment, but instead we receive grace and forgiveness.
Therefore, if wrong is done to us or things are withheld from us, God’s justice will right the wrong. God will do what is right for us if we let Him and wait for Him to act. I have been done wrong many times, but as I let God take care of it all, He makes it right. The key is to allow Him to correct things and allow Him to do it in His timing. He has given me more than I’ve lost and made things better than it would have been if the injustice had never happened. God used it all to make me more like Jesus., to know Him better, to grow in His Word, and live by the Holy Spirit. God blesses us so much that we can forget the issues of the past and enjoy the present and future.
We must know that God will always take care of us no matter what goes wrong because He is just, or righteous. We may not always understand His timing or understand who or what He uses to bring justice, but when justice comes, we can see what He was doing all along. When things seem unjust, God will let us know that it’s going to be all right- because He is righteous and that’s what He does.
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. II Corinthians 5:21 (KJV)
Jesus took the punishment for all our wrongs and satisfied God’s justice on the cross, so we are made righteous. As believers, God will act on our behalf based on Christ’s finished works. The penalty is paid in full, and God will pay us back for every injustice, because He is just!
