Infinite God
Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. Psalm 90:2 (KJV)
Our God is infinite. Infinite, according to Merriam-Webster, means endless, immeasurable, inconceivably great, inexhaustible, without limitation, extending beyond, extending to infinity. This gives us a glimpse of who God is. He is infinite and eternal.
God has no beginning or ending. He is beyond time and outside of time, yet He steps into time to redeem man. The Lord is from everlasting to everlasting. He dwells in eternity. He doesn’t need time or space to exist, but time and space need Him in order to exist. God is immeasurable, beyond all we know or think of Him. Regardless of our knowledge or ideas about God, He is even more.
While God is immeasurable, He reveals Himself by His Word- revelation upon revelation, line upon line, precept upon precept. It’s an unveiling of God. We can’t comprehend God with our minds, yet we can know Him by revelation from His Spirit to our spirits.
God is inexhaustible, His power never running out or failing. Nothing is too hard for God, and nothing is impossible for Him. He has all power to do anything and everything He wishes. When man fails, God begins to do the impossible, the unthinkable, the unimaginable. God has no limits within Himself. Whatever we need, God can provide. The only thing limiting God acting on our behalf is us.
God is beyond all that we know of Him. He is all-knowing, ever-present, all-loving, ever-giving, eternally-wise, continually-forgiving, and all-powerful. His understanding is infinite, so God understands all about us, our lives, and everything else. God knows how to solve any problem, and He has the power to make things right.
God is infinite, but He has made ways for us to begin to know Him. To know God, we must be born-again, know His Word, and be filled with His Spirit. We must thirst and hunger to know Him more and more. We must seek Him, worship Him, desire Him, cry out for Him, put Him first, and make Him our one quest in life. Because He is infinite, we will ever be learning about God and getting to know Him, but He is amazing, awesome, and definitely worth knowing.
